Getting there by air
Paraguay's only international airport is Silvio Pettirossi International in Asuncion. Direct international flights from Asuncion are limited to neighbouring countries: Buenos Aires, Argentina; La Paz and Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Sao Paulo and Rio De Janiero, Brazil; Iquique and Santiago; Chile. Alternatively, you could fly to Buenos Aires and take a comfortable bus to Asuncion taking in the Argentinian scenery on the way.
Getting to Laguna Blanca
From the airport, take a taxi to the bus terminal (around 25 minutes) where several buses leave daily for Santa Rosa. The journey can take five or eight hours depending on the route - so make sure you go via 25 de Deciembre. We will meet you there. Laguna Blanca is situated around one hours drive away from Santa Rosa. We'll give you more details on getting to Laguna Blanca, including Asuncion hotel information, with your information pack.
Travelling around
Travel in Paraguay is easiest by bus. The bus services are regular, reliable and inexepensive. Car hire can be expensive.
Visas
EU passport holders have a free 90 day visa. This can be renewed by leaving and re-entering the country at one of the border towns. Americans, Canadians, Australians and New Zealanders will need to obtain a visa.
